Fox Memorial Hospital Nursing Home is offering a paid training class for C.N.A. certification. Class begins August 8th and end on September 6th. Upon successful completion and obtaining NYS certification candidates will be offered employment in the Nursing Home. Both full and part-time opportunities will be available. Candidates who are available for evening and night shifts have more opportunities for full-time work.

First Transit is recruiting for bus drivers and bus monitors!

Bus Driver Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Drive one of several different transit buses or vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area within a daily assigned time schedule

Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required

Stop at designated points to load and unload passengers

Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs and scooters

Notify dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble

Assure that fares are deposited into the fare box and dispense information

Advise passengers of rules and regulations when necessary

Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents

Operate on-board computer fare boxes and destination signs.

Must be at least 21 years of age

Possess a valid driver's license

CDL license Class A, B, or C with P endorsement - We will train if you don't have this!

Have at least 3 years of driving experience

Excellent communication skills

Able to work shift hours and days assigned.

Monitor Responsibilities:

• Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route
• Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver
• Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process
• Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents
• Attends all safety and training meetings
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door
• Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily
• Cleans the inside of the bus
• Assists driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards

Monitor Required Experience and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Early morning availability
• Judgment/problem solving skills
• Ability to manage high degrees of stress
