BEAM Program at SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus!!


The Chenango County BEAM Program has found its home away from home! As of October 26, 2016, Heather Schaap will be available to meet Perspective and Current BEAM students on the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State College. The new BEAM office is located downstairs in room 110 (in the Adjunct Faculty Suite). You can find Heather there on Wednesdays from 8:00am – 3:30pm, so come in and check out our nice spacey, convenient location!

Community Habilitation Support Worker Needed in Greene!!

Community Habilitation:
To provide education, instruction and supports to enable individual to achieve personal goals. Staff will help individual learn independent living and community orientation skills, including but not limited to meal prep, shopping, safety skills, physical fitness and accompany individual on community outings. Travel required and staff will receive mileage reimbursement, starting point in Greene.


Wages and Hours:
$14.00 per hour
10 hours per week (starting at 3:00pm- after school hours)


Other Requirements:
Driver's license required.
Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting through Springbrook Inc, as well as initial training.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician Training Program Coming Soon!

DCMO BOCES will be conducting a Certified Phlebotomy Technician Program at the Chenango Campus in Norwich.


Phlebotomy technicians are important members of the clinical laboratory team. New diagnostic techniques, clinical laboratory technology and automated instruments have greatly increased the volume of- and demand for- medical laboratory testing performed by phlebotomy technicians. Phlebotomy technician graduates can work in hospitals, physicians' offices or in independent labs.


Training Description:
  • Is a course designed to give you a foundation in phlebotomy.
  • Prepares you for the National Certification examination through the National Healthcareer Association.
  • Provides a flexible and short-term educational schedule with classes available at DCMO BOCES Campus in Norwich, NY.
  • Teaches by using a combination of classroom instruction (60 hours) and clinical skills lab practice, including a clinical internship rotation at one of the area's health care facilities.
Training Dates:
October 17, 2016- December 1, 2016
Testing anticipated on December 5, 2016.

Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 4:30pm-7:30pm- Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm
Clinical component expected to be scheduled at nearby laboratories, but may include the labs of Bassett Medical Center-- Norwich and/or Chenango Memorial Hospital. Clinicals will include a minimum of 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary draws.  

Tuition Information:
The tuition cost at time of registration is $1118.00, which includes textbook, lab supplies and testing fee for the National Healthcareer Association Phlebotomy Certification Exam.

Requirements prior to clinical component include completion of physical medical examination, required immunizations and drug screen prior to clinical component.


Class size is limited to 16 students. Priority registration given to Military Service Veterans.

CNA Training Program Beginning in November!!


DCMO BOCES will be conducting a Certified Nurse's Aide Program at the R.W.Harrold Campus in Sidney Center.


Training Description:
  • Provides you an educational opportunity to develop the medical knowledge and clinical skills necessary to become a Nursing Assistant.
  • Prepares you for the New York State Department of Health Certified Nursing Assistant examination.
  • Provides a flexible and short-term educational schedule, with classes held at our R.W. Harrold Campus in Sidney Center.
Training Dates:
November 7, 2016- December 12, 2016
Testing anticipated on December 13, December 14 and/or December 15, 2016.

Schedule:
Monday- Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm
Clinical schedule will be 30 hours, starting November 30, 2016, either 1st or 2nd shift.

Tuition Information:
The tuition cost at time of registration is $1550.00, which includes books, uniform and testing fee for the New York State Nursing Aide Exam.

Small Business Training Program

Program topics will include the basics of owning a business, developing a business plan and how to manage by the numbers. Led by SBDC Senior Business Advisor, Michelle Catan. The program includes several experienced local business owners.
